Frequently Asked Questions
What type of oil tank should I install?
It’s best to install an aboveground oil tank. Underground oil tanks can develop undetected leaks that develop into costly remediation situations.
Is heating oil safe?
Yes! Heating oil is very safe, and not capable of causing life threatening explosions like natural gas or propane.
How many times should I press the reset button if my furnace goes off on reset?
Never press the reset button more than once. Pressing the reset button numerous times can flood your combustion chamber and cause major damage to your heating unit.
If my oil tank is leaking, can I still receive a delivery?
No. It is imperative to replace a leaking oil tank immediately. If you do not inform your oil supplier of an active leak and you allow the tank to be filled, it can cause your tank to rupture and create a major spill.
Is it normal for the smoke coming out of my chimney to be black?
No. If your heating unit is producing black smoke, it is very likely that the unit is in need of service. If you ignore this for too long, the unit can soot up and/or puffback which could cause significant property damage.
